Short History

Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm

Short History
The Project is unique in that it is constructed around the Wittekleibosch Community, a settlement developed in the 1990’s for the Mfengu people who are also beneficiaries of the TDT. We signed an MOU to develop the project in 2009, with the Project awarded Preferred Bidder in May 2012 and reaching financial close in June 2013.
The project received full Environmental Authorisation from the Department of Environmental Affairs in 2012 and associated Operational environmental Management Programme as to ensure environmental protection and management on site.
